BRACEBRIDGE, ON – Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norman Miller reminds residents and small businesses who are eligible for Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians that they have a limited time to apply for assistance following this spring’s flooding.
The Ontario government activated the Disaster Recovery Assistance program for towns of Bracebridge and Huntsville and the Township of Muskoka Lakes after flooding that began on April 19, 2019. The deadline to submit an application to this program for these residents is August 29, 2019. The program was activated for the Townships of Ryerson and Armour and the Village of Burk’s Falls with an application deadline of September 11, 2019.
Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians is designed to help victims of natural disasters to get back on their feet. Eligible residents can apply for help with costs including emergency expenses, clean-up costs and repairs to or replacement of essential property at a primary residence. Applications should include documentation establishing your primary address, a letter from your insurance provider and receipts or invoices for costs incurred or estimates for future costs.
